First we had to heat the iron up until it was glowing orange like a firefly, then we hammered it into shape on an anvil. We had to wear earplugs because the hammering was so loud. It took us a while to figure out how to make the iron curl at the tip like Lars did, we had to hammer out the end of the rod until it was flat, then we used the hammer to curl the flat part with a sort-of upwards strike. Finally, we cooled it in a bucket of water and began curving the hook.
Everyone got a chance to make their own hook and afterwards we cleaned the soot off. I just hope they don’t stop us at the airport.
